Did you know ?
In 1787, Thomas Jefferson, future president of the United States, travelled through the vineyards of France. He took very precise notes and stayed in Bordeaux.
He drew up a classification that included four estates: Château Margaux, La Tour de Ségur, Haut Brion and Château Lafite.
These four châteaux are among the first great classified growths of 1855, quite a flair!
